What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?

British Chambers of Commerce data from August shows that 79% of businesses surveyed—92% of which are SMEs—have faced challenges with recruitment, with hospitality and construction firms struggling the most.

Which is why this week I’ve been focusing on the work of Zeynep Ton, author of The Case for Good Jobs.

The question I draw from her work is: How many of your team go home and tell their friends and family that they have a good job?

Zeynep was hoping to join us on the vlog but we couldn’t make the diary work - do tag her in questions that come up for you and we’ll get them answered.

I talked about her work and other research at the theme park leaders trade association (IAAPA) CEO breakfast. If you’ve ever wondered where theme parks go to choose their rides and entertainment… I now have the answer! Go if you ever get the chance. (For a taster, the vlog includes a couple of reindeer singing to me… about God.)

If you’re keen to know more about Zeynep’s work, let us know and we’ll come back to this theme.
