What price face-to-face?

Recently, I was invited to a 90 minute meeting at someone’s office that turned out to be entirely in their interest.

Pre-Covid, I’d barely have noticed.

On Zoom, I’d have let it slide.

But using up one of my precious slots in town without seeking mutual benefit?

🐻 That’ll be a hard Paddington stare.

The truth is, face to face meetings have become much more highly-prized. If people are only ‘in town’ two or three days a week, they have a limited number of slots that they save for their highest priorities. Making it much tougher for new business and sales teams to get in-person meetings.

Please note:

❌ Moving or cancelling risks major irritation (they may have built a day around you)

👮🏻‍♀️ Not being well-prepared is verging on criminal

☕️ Appealing venues are more important

🎁 Mutual value is essential (unless expressly set up to get help or advice)

⚡️Being a source of positive energy is even more important than ever

Have I missed anything? Do share.

Next week:

It’s half-term and I’m in the local panto (Oh no you’re not! Oh yes I am—and you definitely cannot get tickets!).
