Conflict—don’t let it silence you!

Last week in Zurich I spoke to an international group of senior women at The Boardroom about power and presenting.

Their biggest unifying fear is being publicly challenged—many admit they’d  rather avoid speaking than risk a battle.

So we dug into techniques to manage that fear and see off the challenge (which incidentally happens more often in your anxiety dreams than in real life).

🛡 DEFLECT—use humour, if it feels authentic. But be careful of self-deprecation if it gives away your power.

🕵️‍♀️ EXPLORE—be open, establish the intent (it’s often less harsh than it first sounds).

🙋‍♀️ INVITE—ask others in the room what they think.

🛑 STOP—move it to a later/private slot.

🧘‍♀️ BREATHE—manage your own stress response.

We can do this! The vlog has some real examples and do add what works for you in the comments below.
